We're here to listen

The more you know, the safer you'll be

We all want to change how we think or feel occasionally, for all kinds of reasons.

That’s why people ride roller coasters, exercise, build relationships and take risks. Drugs can also change our mood or behaviour, and whether we’re drinking our morning coffee or dancing all weekend at a festival, like it or not, drugs are all around us and we really need to talk about them.

Drugs can be seriously harmful, but like everything in life, the more you know the safer you’ll be.

We can fill in gaps in education, explain why people choose to take drugs and what effects those drugs can have on you, your body and your brain.

If you feel uncertain about the risks involved, or you want to make changes to what you're taking and how often you're taking it, we can help by finding a way that’s right for you.

Everything we talk about is evidence-based. We don’t give you our opinion - we give you facts and options so you can make safer choices for yourself. If you need a safe space to talk, one to one support or in a group, our door is always open.

How we can help

When it comes to recovery, we know that everyone’s goals are different, whether that’s making small changes, stopping completely, or finding new ways to stay safe and healthy. Whatever it is that you want to achieve, we’ll support you to get there - and we’ll be WithYou every step of the way.

We offer one-to-one support for young people aged 11-25 living in Kent who are facing challenges with drugs and alcohol.

Our Young Person's Workers will meet with you regularly to help you work through some of the things you are struggling with.

You can bring a parent or another person you trust, if you feel nervous about coming to see us.

Early Intervention group work and RiskIt programme

Group work is helpful because it helps young people learn from other people’s experiences and shows that they are not alone. Many of the young people who work in groups form strong bonds and friendships.

We offer:

  • Group interventions that are evidence-based and delivered in line with the latest research
  • Tailored substance-specific information and harm reduction
  • Exploration of risk taking behaviour and resilience
  • Acknowledgement of social norms and challenging perceptions
  • Information and advice on staying safe and reducing risks
  • Interventions delivered by staff who are appropriately trained in group dynamics and delivery.

As a young person, they will work together with a small group on a specific issue that they share. Their Young Person's Worker will talk more about group work, to see if this is the right option.
